Going solar with PEG Energy allows you to own your energy as opposed to renting it from an electrical provider. Being 100% covered will allow you to replace your pesky energy bill and be price protected with a low fixed cost for your solar panels.
How Does Solar Work
Before moving forward with a solar solution it is important that you understand how solar works. Our solar solution experts help all our clients learn how solar panels work and what to expect from their system. Going solar is a long term commitment after all, and it is important to be well informed about the product and service that you will be receiving. What Happens at Night
When there is no sun, don't worry net metering is here to save the day!
Fortunately there are net metering programs that homeowners with solar panels can benefit from. Net metering allows homeowners to store energy in the electric grid. During the day your system is producing energy and powers your home. Any excess energy that wasn't used during the day is sent to the grid and you receive credits in exchange. At night or during cloudy days when your system isn't producing enough energy, you will pull electricity from the grid. Luckily for you the credits you have stored will cover those charges.
"You can receive a check at the end of the month/year for your energy credits"
You will be able to sell your excess energy to the electric company through net metering and receive energy credits in your bill at the end of each month but the electric provider will not send you a check/cash for those credits no matter how much you've accumulated.
If you end the year with credits on your bill, many electric providers allow you to carry those credits into the new year.
Typically, homes generate excess energy during low demand months and accumulate those credits to be used during the night time and in higher demand months like the summer or winter when they are needed.
The only way to be able to eliminate your light bill with solar panels is by ensuring that your system's yearly solar energy production is the same or above the amount of energy you currently use on a yearly bases. Otherwise you will have two bills.
What to Expect
Your solar panel system will come with real time monitoring for your panels, and PEG's smart monitoring will also be included in your installation. This will help you learn your energy consumption & production trend making it easier to predict what your energy credits will be at the end of each month. You'll be able to track it on your smartphone, tablet, or computer.
